The Glide Right repair bracket is
designed to eliminate the necessity to replace damaged bifold interior
closet doors. The bracket is machined from 20 gauge zinc alloy to
withstand pressure from the pivot or guide pins if the door is
improperly opened.

Function:
Function
of the Glide Right bracket is to eliminate bifold closet doors from coming
off the track. This most commonly occurs when there has been ir-repairable
damage to the closet door from improper use during the opening and
closing process.
The most common cause of damage to the
wood inner frame of a bifold closet door is to bore a hole for the pivot
or guide pin. The hole becomes oversized and the pivot or guide pins tilt as
pressure is applied when opening the door improperly. Continued improper
use during the opening process will eventually result in the pivot or
guide pin tilting in the bore hole and splitting the wood on the inner
frame.
There are only two solutions or repairs
for this type of damage. The door must be removed from the track,
transported off-site, and the Masonite covering must be separated from the
wood frame and a new piece of framing must be reinstalled in the bifold
door and the Masonite must then be re-glued to the new piece of inner frame
material. Once this has been completed, a new bore hold must be drilled
and a new pivot or guide pin inserted into the bore hole. This type of
repair requires approximately twenty-four (24) hours to complete, taking
into consideration the drying time of the glue. Then the door must be
transported back to the unit to be re-installed. The other option is to
replace the bifold closet door with a new product at the cost of
thirty-eight ($38) to two hundred dollars ($200).
Versatility
The
Glide Right repair part is versatile in as much as it can be
used on any inside corner of a bifold door to repair either the bottom
adjuster pin, the top stabilizing pin or the guide pin, which guides the
bifold door along the upper track. Since this is a one-piece part, one piece can be utilized for three
different types of repairs.
The Glide Right repair part has been designed for either one and three eights inch or one and one eight
inch doors to accommodate many guide pin styles.
Installation
There is no need to remove the closet
door from a unit, it can be expeditiously repaired on-site. Installation
of the Glide Right repair bracket is a non-technical skill and can be performed by
anyone who can use a Phillips screwdriver. Once the bracket has been
properly seated on the inside corner of the bifold closet door, it is as
simple as inserting four mounting screws and reinserting the guide pin
through the bracket.
